Weston Foods, a subsidiary of Canadian food processing firm George Weston Limited, has acquired cakes producer Starr Culinary Delights.
The acquisition forms a part of Weston Foods' commitment to grow and offer quality bakery products to the North American market.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Weston Foods Frozen and Biscuit Divisions president Kevin McDonough said: "This strategic acquisition will complement our growing cake and sweet goods business with high quality, innovative and unique products and capabilities.

Starr Culinary Delights offers cakes made with quality ingredients to retail and foodservice customers across Canada and the US.
Its products include a wide range of cake and dessert products such as Starr's signature coffee cakes, cheese cakes, loaf cakes, layer cakes, cupcakes, tarts, mousses and more.
