It is reported that China Steel Corp. (CSC), the largest steelmaker in Taiwan has received more than 2.7 million tons of order volumes for the first quarter of this year, which is about 5%~8% higher than the received orders in the fourth quarter of last year.
Besides, Chung Hung Steel, the subsidiary of CSC said that it has shipped about 230,000 tons of steel products in January and its February allocation has been full booked.
Accordingly, the strong market demand is expected to push up the steel prices to in the Taiwanese domestic market.
Industry sources said that CSC might hike its April and May prices and Chung Hung Steel would also increase its March prices by more than 5% for hot rolled steel products.
